About the Role

PANDA is seeking a skilled Volunteer Program Lead to redesign and enhance our volunteer framework, aligning it with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement. This critical short-term role focuses on reviewing and redeveloping our current volunteer program to ensure it meets best practices and supports PANDA’s mission.

The role will also oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a structured, effective, and impactful volunteer program.

About You

You are an experienced volunteer program professional with a proven track record in designing and implementing volunteer frameworks aligned with best practices. Your expertise includes creating compliant programs, recruiting and managing volunteers, and driving continuous improvement. Experience in the not-for-profit sector, mental health, or managing remote teams is highly regarded.

Key Details:

  • Work from home anywhere in Australia
  • 0.8 FTE – 4 days per week
  • Fixed-term contract until 30/06/2025
  • SCHADS Award Level 6.1 - $53.84 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Redevelop PANDA’s volunteer framework in alignment with National Standards.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and support of operational volunteers.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and national standards.
  • Lead initiatives to improve volunteer retention, recognition, and program impact.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive volunteer environment.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Proven experience in developing and managing volunteer frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and compliance.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and ability to engage diverse communities.
